Shhh. . . It's Weird
The Story:
Lula, a small town girl from Tennessee, goes to visit her childhood friend Hunter
whom she hasn't seen in years where he's living in Portland, Oregon.
During Lula's visit, she meets some strange characters (or apparitions?)
and goes to the weirdest Japanese restaurant this side of the Mississippi.

The Story Behind the Story:
I was speaking to my good friend and talented photographer, Sarah Henderson, one day at a coffeeshop near my apartment on Alberta Street in Portland, and describing how actors' audition videos these days were altogether strange (and moreover boring)--- instead of showcasing acting skills, the trend is currently an actor just talking about him/herself for a few minutes in front of a camera---and Sarah suggested, "Why not make a really short 3-4 minute film, and use THAT as your audition video?" What a cool idea, I thought, and got to work writing a script immediately. Well, when it comes to writing, I have a hard time being brief. The script that came out was at least 10-15 minutes, and probably longer if expanded upon, but I liked what I had come up with... and just for fun, I thought I would try to make this thing. Still keeping with the original concept of using the film as a potential audition piece for everyone involved and showcase people's various talents, magically a team of some incredibly technically skilled behind the camera folks and super funny actors came together. This is now no longer my project but that of everyone who was involved. I am so grateful that I was able to have this collaborative film experience.
